" Reaching the status of masterpiece from the German expressionism “Das Kabinett Des Doktor Caligari” (Robert Wiene, 1919) is a film that blends the boundaries between art and cinematography, thanks to an impeccable realization, a revolutionary narrative and a distinctive mise-en-scene that even nowadays is still aesthetically fascinating.

Built upon each individual scene, the Catalonian artist D-Fried composes a soundtrack emphasizing the oneiric and surreal aura that distinguishes this film, creating a completely new experience and keeping the audience “hypnotized” from beginning to end.

Almost a century since its premier, “Das Kabinett Des Doktor Caligari” is still an audacious film with a mise-en-scene and set design that is defiantly avant-garde, the photography has timeless beauty and the narrative captivates until the very last shot.

With the aim of presenting this silent cinema classic to a 21st century audience, the catalonian musician D-Fried has written and performs a live soundtrack that fluctuates between ambient and electronic landscape sounds, with intricate rhythms and ethereal melodies that embrace this film in a way never seen until now. He maximises the film’s dark atmosphere and builds the composition scene after scene, resulting in an audiovisual experience that unifies a past and present that looks to the future. "
